For many reading this, it has been a few years since you worked with me and/or received my weekly newsletter, Monday Metaview.
What happened? Like you…LIFE!
In June of 2014 I lost my mid-life husband, Charley Matera, to pancreatic cancer just three months after his diagnosis. His mother, Lynn, had recently moved to our town after losing his younger sister, Nancy, to the same disease two years before. Lynn passed into my care, which–though very demanding–was an honor for me. If you’ve cared for a needy elder, you’ll understand when I write that ensuring her welfare become a second full time job! This, in addition to mothering my young adult sons and fulfilling the responsibilities of a nonprofit executive director position, occupied my life until she passed away at the age of 87 in August of 2017.
With my organization growing and international travel becoming more frequent, it was best to let Monday Metaview, my Spirit On A Mission retreats and part-time coaching engagements go…but only for the time being…
Fast forward to today! My two boys are on their own, I left my executive position a year ago, sold my house, did some travelling (including driving an RV around New Zealand for a month) and returned to settle in western Massachusetts. To my absolute delight, I bought a house on a scenic country hilltop in Leyden (pop. 711) and am now re-establishing myself as a leadership coach and organizational consultant…with a soulful twist!
I look forward to providing opportunities for personal and professional development with a nod to soul care in addition to my leadership work. I invite you to join me again, in hopes that you might enjoy receiving reflective newsletters and learning about my offerings in the weeks and months to come. And, if you unsubscribe today, I completely understand!
It’s good to be connected again! May we journey well into the new decade!
Martha
